Bird enthusiasts can get started on exploring nature from their own home windows or backyard with a free beginner birdwatching kit from Albuquerque Public Libraries.
In partnership with the Open Space Division and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Albuquerque Public Libraries are offering beginner birding kits to borrow as part of the library’s collection. All libraries throughout the city are participating, and the kit includes a pair of binoculars with a how-to-use guide, as well as a guide to birding hotspots throughout Albuquerque, Open Space properties map and a resource card to support a new hobby in birding. Kits are available to check out with a free library card at any front desk library.
