An uptick in shootings at the open space area behind Community Stadium has led to a warning being issued by the Albuquerque Police Department
Individuals have been firing guns into the desert behind the stadium. Two of these shootings have resulted in homes being hit by bullets.
APD warns the public that the only locations where a person can legally shoot a gun in city limits is at a gun range.
APD is working with the property owners of the land to install fencing and signage which has already been put up, warning the public it is private property.
