Students working toward obtaining their driver’s license can now fulfill the 56 defensive driving classroom hours at La Cueva High School while also obtaining half an elective credit.
The class will take place from 2:35-3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday in room G-6 at LCHS. Students must be 15 years old by Dec. 7 to take the course and cannot miss any classes to get credit for the required 56 hours. There are no excused absences, and two tardies will equal one absence. The class is free and provided by the New Mexico Traffic Safety Bureau.
The class is limited to 35 students and is on a first-come, first-served basis. To enroll in the class, students and parents must fill out and sign the permission slip at sites.google.com/aps.edu/francisco-timm/classes/drivers-education and then email the form to timm_f@aps.edu.
