It was another goal fest at the Albuquerque Metro Championships on Thursday. This time it was Albuquerque Academy’s boys varsity soccer team crushing the net.

The Chargers scored 10 goals against the Monarchs in the latest matchup of the tourney. Academy’s girls also scored 10 goals against the lady Monarchs in their Wednesday matchup, but the keeper couldn’t keep a clean sheet in that game, letting one goal through.

The Academy boys have a record of 1-0-1 for the season, having tied Atrisco Heritage 1-1 in their first matchup of the tournament. So far the team has scored 11 goals and only allowed one goal in during their first games of the season.

The boys Chargers take on Highland High School at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, on Field 1 of the APS Soccer Complex. The Lady Chargers play Cleveland High at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, on Field 1 of the APS Soccer Complex.
