The board president for Albuquerque Youth Rugby United E.T. Wilbur was at North Domingo Baca Park on Saturday helping athletes prepare for the spring season.

Rugby players at NDB were partaking in the Rookie Rugby Camp, which runs through Nov. 19.

“We’ll start official practices in February and then the season is March, April, May,” Wilbur said. The league offers non-contact and contact rugby in different divisions for boys and girls ages 6-19.

Albuquerque Youth Rugby United is an all-volunteer nonprofit league teaching leadership, community and responsibility through the sport. The core values of AYRU are:
