Albuquerque Public Schools will be collecting supplies for firefighters Friday.

The Drive for Supplies will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the APS administrative offices, called the Alice and Bruce King Education Complex, 6400 Uptown Blvd., as well as the APS-owned radio station KANW at 2020 Coal Ave. NE.

Collected items will be supplied to those fighting the wildfires in the northern part of the state.

A list of items in need includes electrolyte powder mix that can be added to water, cases of electrolyte replacement water, water, individual snacks (protein bars, trail mix, jerky sticks, diabetic-friendly snacks), black socks, extra-large underwear (but all sizes welcome), dark T-shirts in all sizes, chapstick, sunblock, wet wipes for face and body, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, allergy medications, sodas, nail clippers, tweezers, shaving cream, Vienna sausages and potted meat, crackers, storage containers, and containers for warming food (glass preferred).

Additional drop boxes will be available at City Center, the Lincoln Complex and KANW over the next week.
