Join Albuquerque Public Schools at the Spring Wellness Festival.

The free event features on-site Medicaid and SNAP enrollment, health education, prizes, snacks and more. It runs from noon to 5 p.m. May 3 at the APS City Center, 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE.

In addition to Medicaid and SNAP enrollment, those qualified will also be able to enroll in LIHEAP energy assistance and TANF (cash assistance) programs. Bilingual staff will be available. A Medicare specialist will also be available to field questions on options.

Other resources include representatives from beWellnm providing information on financial assistance and education for affordable health insurance options; local providers with information on eyeglasses, housing assistance, APS family engagement; and more.

Insurance providers, including from Presbyterian, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Western Sky Community Care will be on site, along with health care providers and organizations, to answer questions and provide support to families and staff.

“Because health-related issues can be barriers to learning, APS is working on ways for students and families to be healthier,” said Brian Bolding, Medicaid enrollment coordinator in the APS Student, Family, and Community Supports Division. “We at APS believe that a healthier student is a more successful student.”
