Albuquerque Police Department officers from the Northwest and Northeast Area Commands have worked with the Organized Crime Unit on multiple holiday operations since Black Friday to fight retail crime across Albuquerque. Their work so far has resulted in 33 arrests, some of which were felony repeat offenders, according to a release from APD sent out Thursday. The officers recovered at least $10,400 in stolen merchandise. The recent investigations into retail crime, which remain ongoing, have yielded information regarding the narcotics trade, stolen motor vehicles and human trafficking. The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature handmade crafts from dozens of local vendors. There will also be live entertainment, music and food. This event is sponsored by VVHS Special District Programs.
Paradise Hills Community Center is hosting a free “Pancakes and Pajamas” event Saturday morning. The breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to noon and is for all ages and will feature pancakes, eggs, sausage, coffee and hot chocolate. Families are encouraged to wear their pajamas. There will be plenty of Christmas cheer in Ventana Ranch this weekend as two holiday parades come to the neighborhood Saturday. First, the Ventana Ranch Neighborhood Association holds its annual Christmas parade from 3-4 p.m. The parade will begin at Ventana Ranch Elementary School with the two-mile parade route going counterclockwise on loop road- Las Ventana/Ventana Ranch.
