A four-car crash caused major delays and traffic issues Thursday morning on Paseo del Norte. Westbound Paseo was closed near Coors for hours after the crash, which had reports of injuries and a car that rolled over. Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office first reported the road was closed at 8:27 a.m. Officers were diverting traffic as the crash was cleaned up. By 1o a.m., the crash site was cleaned and all lanes of traffic were open.

The ongoing construction in Ventana Ranch will cause more road closures this week. Northbound Universe, which has been closed since mid-September as crews install a 20-inch raw water pipeline, re-opened Monday. Crews also closed southbound Universe from McMahon to Irving Monday. The road will be totally closed for about five weeks with one lane of traffic open in each direction on the north side of the street. The Volcano Vista baseball program and booster club is hosting a community event fundraiser Tuesday. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Pizza 9 on Golf Course. During the fundraiser, 30% of all dine-in and carry-out sales will go to the VVHS baseball program when you show the official flyer as you’re ordering. All dine-in and carry-out orders, placed with the Baseball Boosters fundraiser flyer, will be counted toward the 30%. Delivery orders do not qualify. Please use the approved flyer only. Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office re-launched the Metro Air Support Unit Monday morning at Double Eagle Airport for the first time since a deadly helicopter crash in July that killed four first responders. A Star E3 helicopter known as Metro 1 took flight shortly after a brief 10 a.m. press conference at the BCSO Hangar. This was the first flight from MASU since the deadly crash of the Bell Huey, known as Metro 2, on July 16. In that crash, Lt.
