City Councilor Dan Lewis, who represents District 5, has called for an investigation into a book that was released in September that covers Albuquerque’s response to the pandemic and social issues like the Black Lives Matter movement that broke out throughout the country. The book is called “City at the Crossroads: The Pandemic, Protests and Public Service in Albuquerque” and was written by former Albuquerque Journal columnist Joline Guttierez Krueger. Unofficial results from the New Mexico Secretary of State’s website shows Democrats Cynthia Borrego, Joy Garratt and Barbara Christine Baca all won their elections Tuesday by wide margins while Republican Robert Henry Moss is leading by a dozen votes. NM House District 68 Moss is leading the race for District 68 State House with 5,590 votes. Democrat Charlotte Little has 5,578 with all 32 precincts reporting. It was a busy Election Day at the vote center at Volcano Vista High School Tuesday. Presiding Judge Susan Legits said there were 428 votes cast as of 1:30 p.m., and she expects it get busier as the day goes on. “As more people get off of work, I expect a surge later,” Legits said. “We had a pretty good line when we first opened and it’s tapered off. There was no state championship for the Volcano Vista High School cross-country teams this year, but both teams made the podium Saturday at Albuquerque Academy. The boys team finished second and the girls were third at the State Cross Country Meet.
