The 44th annual Zia Marching Band Fiesta, one of the most prestigious marching band events in the Southwest, will take place Saturday at University Stadium from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Twenty-nine bands representing schools from New Mexico, Texas and Colorado will compete. It’s been bad news at the pumps lately for motorists as the average price for a gallon of gasoline in Albuquerque jumped from $3.59 last week to $3.77 Wednesday. It wasn’t as bad of news in the neighborhood as several stations in northwest Albuquerque had prices below the citywide average. Costco and Sam’s Club, which each require a membership, were easily the lowest in the neighborhood at $3.39.
