Students at Cibola High School return to class on Jan. 4 and will see some changes to the school’s parking policy the next day. Parking pass costs (nonrefundable) $20 senior lot $10 junior (west) Lot Students must apply for a parking permit. All parking passes must be paid for online via School Pay. Albuquerque Academy’s Multicultural Summer Honors Program is a six-week, full-day summer scholarship program for academically strong students who are currently in fourth grade. The 2023 MSHP program begins June 5 and runs through July 14. Classes meet from 8:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Summer Honors applicants are evaluated on academic performance, character ratings, teacher recommendation(s) and the applicant’s essay. Selections for acceptance will be announced no later than Feb. 15. Applications can be done online and must be received by Jan. 26. Kids can learn over winter break with an interactive online game called “Know what to Throw.” The recycling game is presented by the city of Albuquerque  and the Solid Waste Department’s “Keep ABQ Beautiful” campaign. It challenges players to choose the proper place to dispose of different types of waste, whether it’s household garbage, recycling, compost or hazardous waste.

Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School is asking parents to complete a survey to help provide input on the curriculum and instruction review of the school. The survey can be completed online and takes between 30-60 minutes. LBJ is hoping the results of the survey will be help staff and administration to better understand promising practice areas and opportunities to improve that may exist in the school.
