Here is a recap of last week’s games for Eldorado High School sports teams, according to the Albuquerque Public Schools athletics schedule and Maxpreps. Football The varsity team (2-6) won its Friday game against the Sandia Matadors with a final score of 42-39. Click here for some recap highlights.  The JV team (3-3) lost to the La Cueva Bears on Monday, 53-8.  The freshman team (1-5) also lost the Albuquerque Bulldogs Tuesday by a score of 22-41.  Volleyball The varsity team (12-2) won its match on Tuesday against Piedra Vista Panthers 3-0, and won again Thursday versus the Sandia Matadors 3-2. …

Republican New Mexico gubernatorial candidate Mark Ronchetti has come under fire, and not just by the usual political smearing campaign ads between candidates during pre-election, but instead by Albuquerque constituents online via meme form.  No matter what social media one uses, these memes can be seen far and wide on all social platforms. The freeway at I-25 and Montgomery NE is completely shut down while Albuquerque Police investigate an apparent suicide from the overpass Saturday afternoon.  A spokesperson for APD said the person who jumped off the bridge was pronounced dead at the scene. All traffic on I-25 is currently being diverted to Montgomery freeway exits. Avoid the area if possible.

For super-fans of the hit Netflix show “Stranger Things,” it would be a dream to stay where Eleven resided with the Byers family in the fourth season of the show. People can now do just that via Airbnb. The special shapes balloon called “Joelly Bee” was stolen in a trailer attached to a Chevy truck around 1:30 a.m. at a hotel near the Albuquerque International airport around Yale and Gibson SE. Albuquerque Police Department was also able to recover the truck and trailer housing the ballon, which were recovered around Unser in northwest Albuquerque.  The baby bee is usually apart of a bee family trio with parents Joey and Lilly. It is also the first day absentee ballots are sent out to voters and and in-person early voting starts at the county clerks office.
