The Eldorado High School girls soccer team (18-2-2) won the 2022 State Championship on Saturday against the Cleveland Storm. Although the score was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, Eldorado won in a shootout, 5-3. Coach Aaron Forrester said the team was strong this year with a senior-led team of nine seniors and several outstanding sophomores. Voting has been going on for some time in New Mexico for the 2022 general election with several statewide offices and constitutional amendments on the ballot. With Election Day approaching, early voters shared their thoughts on their top issues. The response to a car accident resulted in an officer-involved shooting early Saturday morning. Albuquerque police from the Foothills Command responded to a single-vehicle accident in the median Tramway Blvd. and Rover, just south of Menaul, at 2:20 a.m. Saturday. Police Chief Harold Medina said in a statement on social media that they believe the individuals in the vehicle had “driven down to the middle of the roadway and were involved in an accident.” He explained one of the passengers seemed to be passed out.
