The board president for Albuquerque Youth Rugby United E.T. Wilbur was at North Domingo Baca Park on Saturday helping athletes prepare for the spring season. Rugby players at NDB were partaking in the Rookie Rugby Camp, which runs through Nov. 19. “We’ll start official practices in February and then the season is March, April, May,” Wilbur said. Self-driven, motivated students are encouraged to apply to Sandia High School’s International Baccalaureate program before the beginning of the 2023-24 school year. Applications can be found on Sandia’s website for both the IB and the IB Preparatory programs. Sandia is one of five schools in the state that offers the program and is the only public school in New Mexico where students can earn an IB diploma.
