Students at Eisenhower Middle School are invited to test games created by Info Tech students and leave a review. Jackie Matsko, information technology teacher at EMS, wrote on the school’s website that 26 games are available. To restart a game, simply refresh the screen to return to the start screen. A document created by Matsko includes links to the games, game previews and descriptions foe each one; log in is required to access the document. Eisenhower Middle School has a new principal. Jonathan Saiz, who had been serving as interim principal for Victor Sanchez, has been appointed to the post, and he recently announced it in a letter to the school’s community that was posted on its website. “It is with great enthusiasm that I have been appointed as your principal,” he wrote. “During these past five weeks, I have been listening to people who are closest to the work and have learned so much. Graduation week for Eldorado High School is next week, and seniors have a variety of activities leading up to the big event. The mandatory Senior Exit survey is due Wednesday, May 4. All graduating seniors are required to fill out the survey, which can be found in the Counseling Google Classroom. Let your student go full STEAM ahead this summer. Registration is open for the Summer STEAM Experience. The program is a free, 12-day engineering and computer science-based program for students of Albuquerque Public Schools currently in sixth through eighth grade. Participants will travel to the Sandia Mountain Natural History Center early in the program to learn about challenges the center faces that can be addressed through computer science-based engineering solutions. Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a familiar sight in the recent trailer for season four of “Stranger Things.” In the trailer, main characters Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) walk by a school named Lenora Hills High School when in actuality it is Albuquerque’s Eldorado High School. Albuquerque Public Schools is hosting an African American Youth Empowerment Summit as April comes to a close. The virtual event is set for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 30.
