Blake’s Lotaburger is celebrating its 70th anniversary on Saturday. To commemorate their the occasion, Blake’s will be offering 70-cent Burritos, fries, LOTABurgers and free iced coffee individually at each participating location.
The fast-food franchise sometimes called simply Blake’s or Lotaburger, it is a chain that has been in New Mexico since 1952 with its first location at San Mateo and Southern. Since then, it has grown to 75 locations with sites in Arizona and Texas while becoming a prevailing tradition of New Mexico.
Founder Blake Chanslor sold the business in 2003, but not before being recognized for commercializing green chile as a classic burger condiment in New Mexico in 1994, according to the Albuquerque Journal.
