There are four new faces serving the city of Albuquerque, filling roles to support key department initiatives and operations. “We’re continuing to bring folks with valuable experience into the fold of city leadership,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “These additions to key departments will help us keep things running efficiently so we can deliver quality experiences and processes to the people of Albuquerque.”

Terry Brunner is the former CEO of Pivotal New Mexico, a nonprofit devoted to increasing funding to local nonprofit and public projects. In the past he served as president Barack Obama’s appointee in the position of New Mexico State Director for USDA Rural Development. Prior to that, he served as U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman’s state director and campaign manager. 

Robyn Rose comes to her new role from the city’s legal department. She recently served a three-year term on the Rules of Evidence Committee by appointment of the New Mexico Supreme Court. Her legal article on wind energy and federal regulations was selected for publication in the New Mexico Natural Resources Journal.  Prior to her legal career, she managed programs in higher education focusing on strategic growth, student success and retention, and employee mentorship. She graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico School with her juris doctorate, from New Mexico Highlands University with a master’s degree in English.

Dennis A. Vásquez brings a wealth of experience in managing parks at the federal and state level, and in managing large programs for the National Park Service (NPS). After working as a park ranger in some of the country’s most outstanding national parks, including Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Big Bend and Grand Canyon, he served as park superintendent at White Sands National Park, Bandelier National Monument, Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site, Guadalupe Mountains National Park and ended his NPS career as superintendent at Petroglyph National Monument on Albuquerque’s West Mesa. He then joined the New Mexico State Parks Division as chief of field operations. He worked in the office of the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as program manager for a federal commission established to study the creation of a national museum of the American Latino and led the commission in developing a feasibility study and plan for the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Latino.

Tracy Perea joined the Sunport Aviation team to help develop the organization’s long-term strategic plan. Previously, she managed the New Mexico Chapter for YPO, an organization dedicated to developing and supporting leadership. Her experience includes several years as an entrepreneur, management positions in two statewide political campaigns, and a career at Intel Corp spanning responsibilities in project management, planning, HR, staffing and training. Perea has also been active as a board member and fundraiser for several nonprofit and charter schools.
