A two-vehicle crash occurred on Coors Blvd. NW at Paseo Del Norte Blvd Sunday morning.

Around 10:15 a.m., a black Lexus was stopped northbound on Coors Blvd at Paseo Del Norte in the left turn lane and was waiting to make a left turn westbound onto Paseo Del Norte.

According to Albuquerque Police Department, witnesses on scene stated the traffic signal for northbound traffic on Coors Blvd. changed from red to green and the driver of the Lexus proceeded with her left turn signal even though she had a red light.  As the driver of the Lexus made the turn, a white 2020 Ford F150 truck was traveling southbound on Coors Blvd. through a green traffic signal and collided with the Lexus.

The passenger of the Lexus was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.  The male passenger was transported to UNMH and is listed in critical condition.  The female driver of the Lexus and male driver of the Ford were both transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The female driver was suspected of driving while intoxicated and a DWI investigation was conducted.

Speed and alcohol were not a factor on the part of the driver for the Ford truck.  The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending for the female driver of the Lexus.
