The wait for Dion’s is finally over in Ventana Ranch.
The popular pizza and sandwich chain opened the doors to its newest location Wednesday on Universe in between Paseo del Norte and Paradise.
Dion’s has 26 locations across New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. The Ventana Ranch store is the 14th Albuquerque location.
Construction began in February, and the doors opened to big crowds.
“It was really busy yesterday, and then today has been busy as well, actually,” General Manager Shane Carmer said Friday afternoon. “I spent the first 18 years of my life in this part of town, so I definitely think it’s a community store, and people in the neighborhood are really hyped for it.”
