Eisenhower Middle School has a new principal.
Jonathan Saiz, who had been serving as interim principal for Victor Sanchez, has been appointed to the post, and he recently announced it in a letter to the school’s community that was posted on its website.
“It is with great enthusiasm that I have been appointed as your principal,” he wrote. “During these past five weeks, I have been listening to people who are closest to the work and have learned so much. Eisenhower Middle School is truly a spectacular place to learn and grow!
“As a collaborative leader, I will work with students, families, school staff, administrative team, district experts, unions, local industry, and community members to support every student,” Saiz said. “I will always listen to the people closest to the work and encourage their suggestions to make current systems more strategic, effective, and efficient.”
He noted positive changes will come to EMS and that he will take a three-prong approach of high-quality and equity-driven instruction, effective and efficient operations, and community engagement in the process. “We will take this approach to take a deep dive and identify our mission, our instructional focus, and our school-wide rituals and routines to meet the needs of our students,” Saiz wrote.
He said the he is eager to meet with every member of the school community and those with a concern or suggestion should contact him via email or phone message; he said he will respond within 24-48 hours of receiving the message.
