New Mexico 2022 primary elections are set for Tuesday, June 7. With more than 100 qualified candidates on the Secretary of State’s candidate list, it us up to voters to narrow the field for each race in their respected party.

During this year’s primary election, voters will choose candidates they want as U.S. representative in all three districts; governor; lieutenant governor; secretary of state; attorney general; state auditor; state treasurer; commissioner of public lands; state representatives; supreme court, magistrate and municipal judges; county commissioner; county assessor; and county sheriff, among other races.

Electors have the chance to vote for candidates within a major political party they think are best suited to win the Nov. 8 general elections. Registered Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians can vote for candidates within their party, while independents/decline-to-state voters can change their registration to a major political party at most polling locations on the same day voting takes place.

In the far Northeast Heights, voters can cast their ballot at one of seven locations but should check the Secretary of State’s Voter Portal to find their official polling locations. A list of other Northeast Heights locations can be found here, and a full list of voting locations can be found on the Bernalillo County Clerk’s website.
