The cost of gasoline has decreased for seven consecutive weeks, with the average price at $3.53 in Albuquerque as of Aug. 11, according to AAA data. Last week, the average was $3.70, a month ago it was $4.37 and a year ago it was $3.04 a gallon. New Mexico’s average price of fuel for Aug. 11 was $3.74. The national average was $3.99 a gallon, the first time it’s been below $4 since early March. AAA data shows San Juan County as having the highest average price of gasoline in the state at $4.52 a gallon, and Otero County had the cheapest gas at $3.26 a gallon.

In the metro’s far Northeast Heights, gas prices at select stations were as follows:

• The 7-Eleven/ALON station at 7843 Tramway Blvd. was charging $3.35 a gallon for regular unleaded, $3.90 for mid-grade, $4.20 for premium, and $4.76 for a gallon of diesel. Prices for mid-grade, premium and diesel were more than 24 hours old, according to Google Maps.

• The price of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Phillips 66 at 6951 San Antonio Drive was $3.70 a gallon Thursday, Aug. 11. Mid-grade was $4.20 a gallon, premium $4.45, and diesel $4.78 a gallon.

• The price of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Shell gas station at 8101 Harper Drive went down 10 cents since last week, now at $3.70 a gallon. Mid-grade also dropped ten to $4.20, premium fell to $4.45 and diesel went down 12 cents to $4.78 a gallon.

• A gallon of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Phillips 66 gas station at 5501 Alameda Blvd. was $4 a gallon, 15 cents less than last week. Mid-grade decreased to $4.50 a gallon, premium dropped to $4.75 a gallon and diesel decreased 20 cents, now at $5.20 a gallon.

• The Chevron at 5980 Alameda Blvd. was charging $4 for a gallon of regular, 17 cents less than last week. Mid-grade went up from $4.63 to $4.46, and premium went up from $4.74 to $4.87 a gallon.
