Gas prices in Albuquerque are on the rise again. According to AAA data, the average price of gasoline in the Duke City is $3.70 as of Wednesday, Aug. 24. A week ago, on Aug. 17, the average price was $3.46. Prices in Albuquerque’s far Northeast Heights were as follows at select stations:

• The 7-Eleven/ALON station at 7843 Tramway Blvd. was charging $3.80 a gallon for regular unleaded, $3.75 for mid-grade, $4.15 for premium, and $4.80 for a gallon of diesel. Prices for all fuel types were more than 24 hours old, according to Google Maps.

• The price of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Phillips 66 at 6951 San Antonio Drive was $3.80 a gallon, up 38 cents since last week. Mid-grade was $4.30 a gallon, premium $4.55 and diesel $4.80 a gallon, also up since last week.

• The price of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Shell gas station at 8101 Harper Drive increased 38 cents since last week, now at $3.80 a gallon. Mid-grade also jumped 38 cents from a week ago, now costing $4.30 a gallon. Premium went up to $4.55, and diesel increased 10 cents to $4.80 a gallon.

• A gallon of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Phillips 66 gas station at 5501 Alameda Blvd. dropped 20 cents since last week, now at $3.80 a gallon. Mid-grade also decreased 20 cents to $3.80 a gallon, as did premium, now at $4.55 a gallon. Diesel increased 10 cents from last week’s $4.70 to this week’s $4.80 a gallon.

• The Chevron at 5980 Alameda Blvd. was charging $3.79 for a gallon of regular, 21 cents less than last week. Mid-grade went from $4.27 to $3.83 a gallon, and premium dropped to $4.66 a gallon. The price of mid-grade was more than 24 hours old, according to Google Maps.

According to the Energy Information Administration, the price of regular gasoline in the U.S. is less than a week ago, but still more than this time last year. Higher demand, tighter supply lines and increases in global oil prices may see a rise in prices at the pump, however. On Monday, Aug. 22, the price of Brent Crude was at $92.70 a barrel. On Wednesday, Aug. 24, the price was sitting at $101.75, according to oilprice.com.
