Next thing you know, gas prices got low, low, low, low. OK, maybe not as a low as a year ago and certainly not as low as the 1950s, but fuel prices are dropping across the Duke City – and the nation – with many drivers in the far Northeast Heights feeling some relief at the pump as well.

According to AAA data, the Aug. 3 average price of regular unleaded fuel in Albuquerque was $3.73 a gallon. Last week the average was $3.90, a month ago it was $4.53 and a year ago it was $3.05 a gallon. New Mexico’s average price of fuel for Aug. 3 was $3.94 and the national average $4.16 a gallon, both lower than last week’s average. AAA data shows San Juan County as having the highest average price of gasoline in the state at $4.68 a gallon and Otero County the cheapest at $3.47 a gallon.

In the metro’s far Northeast Heights, gas prices at select stations were as follows:

• The 7-Eleven/ALON station at 7843 Tramway Blvd. was charging $3.58 a gallon for regular unleaded, $4.03 for mid-grade, $4.43 for premium, and $4.90 for a gallon of diesel. Prices for mid-grade and premium were more than 24 hours old, according to Google Maps.

• The price of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Phillips 66 at 6951 San Antonio Drive was $3.80 a gallon Wednesday, Aug. 3. Mid-grade was $4.30 a gallon, premium $4.55, and diesel $4.90 a gallon.

• The price of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Shell gas station at 8101 Harper Drive went down 20 cents since last week, now at $3.80 a gallon. Mid-grade was $4.30, premium $4.55 and diesel $4.90 a gallon.

• A gallon of regular unleaded at the Circle K/Phillips 66 gas station at 5501 Alameda Blvd. was $4.15 a gallon, the same as last week. Mid-grade was $4.65 a gallon, premium $4.90 a gallon and diesel $5.40 a gallon.

• The Chevron at 5980 Alameda Blvd. was charging $4.17 for a gallon of regular, the same as last week. Mid-grade went up from $4.45 to $4.63, and premium went from $5.04 to $4.74 a gallon. Prices for mid-grade and premium were over 24 hours old according to Google Maps.
