Winter break begins Wednesday, Dec. 21, and ends Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, but there is still a jam-packed calendar for students at Eldorado High School and Hoover and Eisenhower middle schools between now and then. Learn more about these events right here:

Eldorado High School

Tuesday, Dec. 6: The Golden Eagles girls varsity basketball team lost to Cleveland Storm 48-60. Sophomore Bella Hines is the player to watch. She’s scored 37 points so far this season for Eldorado, according to MaxPreps. Sports Primo provides highlights from some of Tuesday’s game on Twitter:

6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7: Choir concert

6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8: Winter jazz concert

3:15-5:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9: Orchestra/choir concert

7-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9: Varsity dance at West Mesa High School

Saturday, Dec. 10: National ACT test day

3-6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12: FAFSA Money Monday. Get free help completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid with local universities and professionals. Visit the New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation website to log in and complete the process.

4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16: Golden Eagles basketball take on Albuquerque High Bulldogs. Girls and boys freshman, JV and varsity teams all play throughout the evening.

4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17: The boys freshman, JV and varsity basketball teams play Valley.

4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20: Boys and girls freshman, JV and varsity basketball teams play Rio Rancho High School.

Wednesday, Dec. 21 through Tuesday, Jan. 3: Winter break.

Eisenhower Middle School

5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8: The Eisenhower boys basketball team plays at Desert Ridge Middle School in the APS End-of-Season Tournament. They advanced in Group 3 after beating Madison 66-32 on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Hoover Middle School

Hoover Middle School drama teacher Dale Simpkins won the 2022 Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching Award and epic science teacher Joann Isonhood was a 2022 finalist.
