Halloween is not until Monday, but there will be plenty of activities in the neighborhood before then to celebrate spooky season.
Here’s a look at some of the Halloween events going on in northwest Albuquerque:
- The city of Albuquerque is hosting a free “Fall Make & Take” event Friday. Attendees can bring their families out for a night of pumpkin painting, games and treats. The pumpkins you decorate can also be taken home. The event runs from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Taylor Ranch Community Center.
- Albuquerque’s First Baptist Church is holding a Fall Festival from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. There will be food trucks, inflatable bounce houses, food trucks, games, face painting and a raffle to benefit Care Net.
- Flix Brewhouse will be showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show all weekend beginning on Saturday. Noisemakers will be allowed for these showings of the cult classic film. Newspapers, party hats and rubber gloves are also permitted. Please be respectful to the theater. No bread, water guns, cards, toilet paper or confetti is allowed.
- Salt Yard West is holding its “One Scary Night” Halloween party. There will be a costume contest with $1,000 grand prize and DJ J. Steele and DJ Tony will perform. Doors open at 8 p.m. for the 21-plus event.
- Chamiza Elementary School will host a trunk-or-treat from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday in the west parking lot. Food trucks will be on site, and families are encouraged to come in costumes to get treats.
- The will be a Spooktacular Walk-Through at Sagebrush Church all weekend. From 7-9 p.m. Friday through Sunday, attendees can interact with all the scenes and characters they’ve come to know and love. Guests of all ages will get to dance, hang out and take photos with Mickey, Minnie, Disney princesses and more. Tickets are $20 per car for the event.
