The 46-game winning streak by the Volcano Vista High School girls basketball team came to a surprising end Tuesday night as La Cueva topped the two-time defending state champions 52-40.
Tuesday’s shocker was the first Volcano Vista loss since Sept. 14, 2020, when it fell to Hobbs in the state championship game.
