Tony Hillerman Middle School and Volcano Vista High School have teamed up with Blue Star Mothers of America for a donation drive.

Blue Star Mothers of America is an organization of mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers and female legal guardians who have children serving in the military or who are veterans that was formed in 1942 in Michigan.

The group provides support for active-duty service personnel, promotes patriotism and assists veterans’ organizations with 188 chapters across America.

The New Mexico chapter is asking for donations, which will be sent to New Mexico soldiers serving overseas.

Requested donations

  • Peanut butter packs
  • Vienna sausages
  • Individual cans of New Mexico chile
  • Beef jerky
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Protein bars
  • Other non-perishable food items

Donations can be dropped off in Rooms 125, 121, 217, 237 and 125 at Tony Hillerman and Room H-209 at Volcano Vista.
