It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on one Ventana Ranch block as Dave Plourde, known around the neighborhood as Mr. Christmas, turned on his dazzling display of Christmas decorations Friday night.
The Plourde house is located at 6600 Terra Dolce Ave. NW, a block northwest of Irving and Universe, and brings hundreds of cars through the neighborhood each holiday season.
Plourde has brought smiles to the faces of thousands with his extravagant Christmas decorations for more than 17 years. Two years ago, neighbor Nate Bywater began organizing other neighbors to help him put the decorations up for the 83-year-old Plourde. This year, Bywater created a GoFundMe to help Plourde and his wife Sandra with medical bills and basic expenses. That fundraiser has reached $12,050 as of Sunday evening and will be active until the day after Christmas.
