The Metro Area Immunization Clinic is set for 3:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in the main gym of Del Norte High School, 5323 Montgomery Blvd. NE.

The clinic is open for any school-aged children in the community and includes all immunizations required for school as well as the COVID-19 vaccine for those ages 3 and up. Onsite registration is available, and a parent/guardian must be present.

There is no cost for the clinic, but those with insurance would bring their information. Parents should also bring their child’s immunizations record.

Immunizations required of those in kindergarten through 12th grade include four or five doses of diphtheria-tetanus-pertusis (DTaP); three doses of Hepatitis B (Hep B); three or four doses of polio (IPV); two doses of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR); two doses of Varicella (for chicken pox); and two doses of Hepatitis A (Hep A).

Students entering seventh and 12th grades are required to have additional immunizations: one dose of diphtheria-tetanus-pertusis (DTaP); one dose of meningococcal (Men ACWY), which is required for grades seven through nine and recommend for 10-12th grades; and two to three doses of human papilloma virus (HPB), which is not required but highly recommended.
