Madison Middle School is hosting an eighth-grade parade May 25 to recognize students moving on from the school. Family and friends are invited to the drive-thru celebration and are encouraged to decorate their vehicles.

To participate, eighth-graders need to attend school May 25. Parade vehicles will enter the student pickup lane off Moon Street at the designated time. Vehicles picking up students with last names A-I will begin the parade between 9:30-10 a.m. Students with last names starting with J-Q will be recognized from 10-10:30 a.m., followed by students with last names starting with R-Z from 10:30-11 a.m.

Students will be waiting for their pickup vehicles near the gazebo between the track and field. When their vehicle pulls up, students will have their photo taken, at which time parents can get out of their vehicles and take pictures as well. A goodie bag and certificate will be given to students at the photo station. Students will then move to the next spot, where they will enter the vehicle and drive past cheering students and staff.

Parents can sign their student out of school for the day at the end of the lane by providing a driver’s license. Those who wish to remain at school may do so by joining the other students in the cheering section of the parade.
