Madison Middle School’s volleyball teams scored a win and a loss against Lyndon B. Johnson Monday evening in their second performance of the season. The B team came up short 15-12 in its third game after splitting the first two with LBJ, while the A team won both games.

“B team played a great match with Charlie/Conway leading the way with good passing and serving,” Madison volleyball coach Michael Gallegos wrote in an email. “The match was a true team effort, and the B team [is] working hard towards their first victory next week versus Jimmy Carter.”

After the B team came off the court, the A team came on, outperforming LBJ 25-3, 25-15. “The girls played fast and had LBJ shanking balls left and right,” Gallegos said. “Sydney Harris had a great game and helped Madison both in the front and back row. Communication was fantastic on the court, which helped the girls’ offense and defense run like a fine oiled machine!”

The A team roster includes students Camilla Villarreal, Sofia Flores Gallegos, Amagen Schultz, Charlie Ferguson, Sydney Harris, Jaylen Martinez and Addison Wigge. Madison plays Jimmy Carter Middle School in away games Monday, Sept. 19, at 5 and 6 p.m.
