An adult male who was attempting suicide in the 800 block of La Veta Dive NE stabbed himself after police responded to a call at the residence. He later died at a local hospital as a result of his wounds.
A release from the Albuquerque Police Department says officers responded to a call Thursday, Jan. 5 at around 3 a.m. to a report of a suicide attempt. When officers arrived on scene the man stabbed himself, causing life-threatening injuries. He died from the self-inflicted wounds after being transported to a hospital.
The incident is being treated as in-custody death and investigated by the Multi-Agency Task Force.
