The third call for a suspected homicide in the overnight hours from Wednesday to Thursday brought officers to the Mission Hill apartments on Menaul near Eubank NE, where they found 65-year-old Willian Lee Vencill shot to death in a blue vehicle. Albuquerque Police Department communications director Gilbert Gallegos said police responded to a call of shots fired around 2 a.m. Thursday and that the man did live in the apartments. Homicide detectives have already started an investigation.

Police were also called to two other homicides, one at the Four Hills mobile home park on Juan Tabo near Central SE, and a second call brought Albuquerque Fire Rescue to the 200 block of Espanola SE. No one has been arrested in any of these cases, but Gallegos said APD hopes to find any witnesses who might have seen or heard what happened.

“It was a very violent night. Unfortunately, three individuals, males, were shot to death,” Gallegos said in a video from the scene on Menaul that APD posted on Twitter. “At this point, it doesn’t appear any of these three homicides are related, but the investigation is still ongoing.” He added that the department will release more details as the investigations continue.

According to ABQ Raw, witnesses said there was gunfire, screaming and that they noticed a blue sedan with a man wounded in the driver seat. This is now the 126th homicide in the city this year, including investigations from APD, state police and Bernalillo County Sheriff Department.
