On National Cinema Day, set for Saturday, Sept. 3, patrons can get movie tickets for only $3 per person one day only.

It is suggested to get tickets reserved on Fandango as cinemas across the country expect a major turnout.

The inaugural event, started by the nonprofit Cinema Foundation, hopes to lure film lovers over Labor Day weekend, which is typically a sluggish time for theaters, according to its site.

AMC, Cinemark and Regal national theatre chains are participating in the promotion.

Replaying in theaters this weekend is Spiderman: No Way Home (the extended director’s cut), Jaws in IMAX and RealD 3D, and the 1958 version of The Blob.
