NM Early Learning Academy Logo1. New Mexico Early Learning Academy will be hosting a family-friendly food truck event at 5528 Eubank Blvd. NE from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4. The Albuquerque Police Department Mounted Patrol will be there along with popular trucks such as WowWow Lemonade, Revs BBQ, Sugar Fluff Cotton Candy and Montoya’s Lunch box. There will also be games, prizes and a DJ dance party.

2. Annual Holiday Shop Hop, hosted by Juxtaposed, is where vintage meets modern. The whimsical boutique will feature 11 unique vendors for holiday-themed products and unique gifts for family to enjoy this Christmas. Check out each one to receive goodies and a free gift. Holiday cheer and décor abound from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at 5200 Eubank NE.

3. For those with an upcoming wedding, the Bridal and Wedding Expo gives soon-to-be newlyweds the chance to see all the vendors, venues and wedding ideas to plan their dream wedding. The event runs 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Manual Lujan building at Expo NM. For free sign-up, click the free pass link, or pay $10 at the door.

Citywide events

4. Food Truck Fridays have been extended through the next two months (with the exception of holidays). So instead of packing a lunch, head over to Civic Plaza from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday to support local food trucks and vendors. Additional dates of the popular program’s extension are Nov. 18, Dec. 2, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16. For more information and updates, visit cabq.gov/fridays.

5. In honor of Native American Heritage Month, the Indigenous Life Celebration & Powwow will run all day Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The day’s activities will promote traditional wellness and cultural ways of life for Native children, teens and families. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., join the Gratitude Walk/Run, Indigenous games, Indigenous dances, land-based learning and cultural enrichment activities. At 1 p.m., enjoy the feast day meal, and from 4-10 p.m. check out the youth powwow. Marketplace vendors will also be available from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

6. Halloween may be over, but Frankenstein is still coming to town. The University of New Mexico Department of Theatre and Dance present “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein,” adapted by Gregory Moss, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as Nov. 11-13 at the UNM Rodeo Theatre. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. The iconic monster is given a new life in this new adaptation of the classic story as it holds up a mirror to the monsters that are in all of us. Tickets are currently on sale.

7. Join Animal Humane New Mexico for the 40th annual Doggie Dash & Dawdle at the Balloon Fiesta Park Multi-Use Facility. Billed as Albuquerque’s must-attend pet vent, attendees can participate in a 5K dash, a one-mile dawdle or enjoy the Doggie Carnival and Marketplace filled with local vendors and rescue groups. Those who can’t attend have the option of becoming a “Virtual Dasher.” Hours for the event are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
