The Albuquerque Police Department made three arrests during an overnight surveillance operation Dec. 8-9.

Northeast Area Command

Damarco Tomlin was arrested the evening of Dec. 8 for receiving/transferring stolen motor vehicles. Detectives with Auto Theft and Intel, with the assistance of air support, were conducting surveillance of an occupied stolen vehicle at a business along Paseo Del Norte. The surveillance led to the arrest of Tomlin, who was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

Foothills Area Command

• The surveillance team located another occupied stolen vehicle in the Foothills Command Area, which was tracked to the area of Constitution and Eubank. A spike belt was utilized successfully while the vehicle was stationary in a business parking lot, and it was followed to Espanola and Zuni. The driver, Chantel Martinez, was arrested for receiving/transferring stolen motor vehicles as well as on a federal Marshall’s warrant for robbery.

Southeast Area Command

• A third surveillance of an occupied stolen vehicle then began in the Southeast Command Area. This vehicle was followed to the area of Southern and Eubank, where a stopping device was successfully deployed. The driver, Juan Santa Cruz Ramirez, fled on foot. Air support maintained a visual on him, and detectives arrested him for a misdemeanor warrant and receiving/transferring stolen motor vehicles.
