Pacific Rim Food Park is the first of its kind in Albuquerque, nestled away on Louisiana and San Antonio NE, had power set up this afternoon, and its soft opening Friday.

Empanada from La Cocina De Ana, egg roll from Viet Flavor.

Owner of La Cocina De Ana food truck, who offers Paraguayan cuisine, said the park will have its official grand opening event on Oct. 30 with activities and giveaways.

The park, located in the parking lot of Grace Church, offers six different international food trucks with one more on the way. It also features a large grass picnic area and tables throughout with shade sails provided by the church. Power provided by PNM allows the park to quietly operate among nearby neighborhoods and allows residents to have a bunch of new food options within walking distance. More food trucks — up to 10 — are slated to eventually be at the site, as well as a drive-through coffee truck.

Cuisines range from Vietnamese to Japanese, Hawaiian barbecue, and eventually a burger truck. The park hopes to expand into hosting farmers markets, which are scarce in the Northeast Heights, and part of the proceeds made from the park will help the church. Starting Nov. 1, Pacific Rim will be open six days a week and will soon offer Wi-Fi and will have security on premises during  from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.
