Quarterback Elliot Paskett-Bell closed out rivalry week with a sterling performance and led Volcano Vista High School’s football team to a 57-7, mercy rule-shortened win over Cibola Friday night.

The Hawks scored eight touchdowns, with Paskett-Bell being involved in seven scoring plays, as they handed their rivals their first defeat of the season.

Paskett-Bell passed for 528 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 99 yards and two scores. Alijah Gonzales ran for a touchdown for the Hawks.

Tristan Cordova caught 14 passes for 258 yards and two TDs, and Devin Banks had four catches for 105 yards and two scores.

Volcano Vista improved to 6-2 and 1-1 in District 1-6A heading into its bye week.
