New Year’s revelers packed the house at Sandia Resort & Casino, where a few people rang in the new year with thousands of dollars in winnings.
One reveler hit the jackpot on the first slot machine she tried for the night. “This is a good sign of what the new year will bring,” she said.
Others danced the night away to the sold-out performance by Blu Sol Band at Tlur Pa Lounge, while some took selfies at a photo booth or mingled in the crowd wearing New Year’s Eve hats and blowing into noisemakers.

At around 11:50 p.m. the crowd gathered near the lounge entrance for the final countdown to 2023.
When the clock struck midnight, revelers cheered “Happy New Year!” while couples turned to hug and kiss each other.
