Located just south of Paseo del Norte on the corner of Wyoming Blvd. & Palomas Park Ave. is Rancho de Palomas Park, a 2.36-acre public space straddling the road leading into the Palomas Park neighborhood. Grass, trees, park benches, and trash receptacles are on both sides of Palomas Park Ave., offering enough space for small-sided soccer, a game of capture the flag, or a midday picnic.

On the north side of the park there is a playground, a covered table, and access to the bike path along the South Domingo Baca Arroyo. The 10-foot-wide bike path connects to North Domingo Baca Trail on the east side of Wyoming where it ends at Barstow Park. Traveling west from Rancho de Palomas, bicyclists can continue along South Domingo Baca Trail toward I-25 where the path connects to Paseo del Norte Trail. From the Paseo del Norte Trail bicyclists can connect to other trails that run north south or keep heading west until they reach the river.

Rancho de Palomas Park can act as a starting point to traverse the city’s bike trails or as a rest stop for riders starting from somewhere else. For those not interested in exploring the trails, the park offers more than just a play area for kids. Dog walkers and people who love the outdoors also utilize the green space for relaxation, exercise, and other uses. Because the park is located directly off Wyoming Blvd. it is not always quiet, but it acts as a buffer and filters out some of the noise and traffic for those living in the Palomas Park neighborhood.
