Children in second through sixth grade can spend spring break on an activity-filled adventure exploring flora and fauna from all over the world at the ABQ Biopark. Camps are separated into second- and third-graders, and fourth through sixth grades.
Each day starts at 8:15 a.m., and children are expected to bring a lunch, snack and drinking water.
The weeklong program is $50 per day, and parents can sign up for as little as one day or for the full week.
The activities for each day are below:
March 21: Enrichment Day — Campers will learn all about what it takes to keep animals healthy and happy at the zoo by meeting the keepers and building enrichment items for some of the animals.
March 22: Wildlife Safari — Discover the many amazing animal adaptations of polar bears, hippos, crocodiles and alligators. Students will end the day with an up-close animal encounter.
March 23: Spring Water Journey — Dive into this adventure as campers follow the course of the Rio Grande from New Mexico to the ocean. They will also explore the aquarium to learn about sharks, jellies, river otters, fish and sea turtles.
March 24: Spring Green Connection — Uncover the fascinating world of plants from tiny seeds to towering trees. Find out how plants support the web of life on Earth and discover their uses.
March 25: Spring Outdoor Adventure — Students will take an exciting trek through the Bosque to experience nature at the heart of the city.
