Three La Cueva High School football players were in Dallas, Texas, on Monday playing against some of the best athletes in the country in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl.

La Cueva senior and varsity quarterback Aidan Armenta, safety Colt Mangio and running back Gabriel Buie were all selected to play on the West Team, which beat the East Team 37-17 . The game was played inside the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium and can be watched on the Impact Football Network’s YouTube Channel.

On Monday Armenta tweeted, “Blessed to have been able to play in the Blue-Grey All American Bowl this weekend. Cool to cap off high school with my two brothers @ManginoColt @@gabrielbuie07! @BlueGreyFB @wallace_seneca @DouGPowell_LSU”

Armenta was also named 6A All-Metro Player of the Year by the New Mexico High School Coaches Association. In addition, 13 La Cueva athletes were selected for the 2022 6A All-Metro Football Team.

The players selected for the team include:

  • Mason Posa, outside linebacker
  • Colt Mangio, safety
  • Mason Crowell, kicker
  • Hunter Roswald, defensive end
  • Jackson Cherry, corner
  • Isaac Molina, guard
  • Aidan Armenta, quarterback
  • Ian Sanchez, receiver
  • Cruz Markham, tight end
  • Gabriel Buie, running back
  • Jackson Hix, receiver
