Albuquerque’s Josh Torres handed Reggie Harris his first loss Friday night in a boxing event to honor the late, legendary boxer Johnny Tapia at Paradise Hills Golf Course.

Torres, who trained at Tapia’s gym, won by unanimous decision in the main event of a card promoted by Tapia’s widow Teresa to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of her husband’s death. Harris, from Michigan, had won his first seven professional fights.

Teresa and Johnny’s 17-year-old son Nicco fought on the card, losing an amateur bout by split decision to Juan Manuel Lopez.

The show also featured the first bare knuckle fight on a sanctioned card in New Mexico with Christopher Zakhari beating Terrance Brown by second-round TKO.
