The 44th annual Zia Marching Band Fiesta, one of the most prestigious marching band events in the Southwest, will take place Saturday at University Stadium from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Twenty-nine bands representing schools from New Mexico, Texas and Colorado will compete. The Volcano Vista High School band, led by director Daniel Villanueva, will have its first performance at 3:15 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the University of New Mexico Bands.

Because of the New Mexico United match across the street at Isotopes Park beginning at 7 p.m., parking will be $7 before 3 p.m. and $12 after 3 p.m. Parking fees can only be paid by card.

All-day tickets are $16 for adults and $9 for students. Prelims-only and finals-only tickets are $11 for adults and $6 for students. Tickets can be purchased here.
