Volcano Vista is looking to add another trophy to its case this weekend.

After winning both the girls and boys basketball state titles last weekend, the Hawks’ baseball and softball teams are in position to add some more hardware.

The baseball team plays at 4 p.m. Friday in the semifinals of the Albuquerque Metro Championship at La Cueva High School.

The Hawks (7-2) got revenge for an earlier loss to Rio Grande with a 10-5 win over the Ravens Wednesday in the quarterfinals.

Should the fourth-seeded Hawks advance, they would play for the Metro crown at 10 a.m. Saturday at 10 a.m. with the highest seed hosting the game.

The top-seeded softball team easily beat Highland 16-0 in the opening round and knocked off Valley 9-0 Thursday.

The Hawks (8-0) play No. 4 Rio Rancho  in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday with the championship game scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m.
