Volcano Vista High School
Volcano Vista High School opened in August 2007 to ninth grade students, adding 10th and 11th grades in August 2008, and 12th grade in August 2009. The first students graduated in May 2010.
Volcano Vista has a 6/10 rating, and seven reviewers have given the school four out of five stars. VVHS is ranked sixth out of 13 high schools in Albuquerque Public Schools.
The GreatSchool Summary Rating, which includes test scores (7/10), academic progress (6/10), college readiness (6/10) and equity (5/10), is 6/10 for VVHS.
The school has 2,222 students, a ratio of 18:1 students per teacher.
The graduation rates for Volcano Vista students have increased four straight years, going from 82.3% in 2018 to 84.5% in 2021.
