Keegan Monheimer and Giancarlo Gutierrez each scored a goal for the boys team in a 2-0 victory over Cibola Saturday.

The boys finished the regular season with a 14-1-3 record and as District 1 champs. They earned the No. 1 seed in the state tournament, which begins Tuesday. The Hawks will play the winner of Organ Mountain-Sandia at home on Friday at home.

The girls also topped Cibola this weekend, winning 2-1 behind goals from eighth-grader Kasey Sandoval and Lillianna Duncan. The girls (13-6)  finished second in district are seeded fourth in the state tourney. They will play either Hobbs or Cibola Friday or Saturday.

Football

Quarterback Elliot Paskett-Bell threw for 247 yards and a touchdown and ran for 74 yards and two scores to lead the Hawks to a 34-22 win over Rio Rancho Friday night.

The Hawks (7-2, 2-1 in 1-6A) finish the regular season this Friday against Atrisco Heritage.
