The Volcano Vista High School Marching Band finished the season on a high note by finishing first place in Class3A at the Pageant of the Bands Saturday.
The band also won awards for Peoples Choice, Best Brass, Woodwinds, Soloists and Percussion.
The win last weekend capped a successful year for the Hawks.
In September, the band travelled and competed in the Bands Of America Regional Competition, receiving a second-place 3A finish along with a sixth-place overall finish among bands from New Mexico, Texas and Arizona.
At the Zia marching Fiesta, which is the New Mexico State Marching Band Competition, the band finished fourth overall.
